Day 19: Saw

By Chantel Korhonen

Saw3

Saw was a big deal when it first came out and made a huge change in some of the horror we see today because of its graphic nature. I love how it’s based around a serial killer who essentially tortures and kills his victims but never actually physically kills them himself. The first is my favorite because it was something new and exciting for the time. Jigsaw is complex and had me interested as to why he does what he does. As the story line goes on, you find out more and more about what his true nature is. It kept me entertained and has some gory makeup details that I absolutely adore. The death traps are unique and had me cringing at parts that looked realistic. My favorite would have to be the reverse bear trap that Amanda was put into; something that is truly terrifying! The series continues for quite some time, developing the character of Jigsaw over many movies and providing much more intense traps along the way.
