Day 10: The Collector

The Collector, another serial killer along the same lines as Jigsaw in the Saw franchise, collects his victims and tortures them by holding them hostage with traps in their own home. I first watched this one when my Mom brought it home from the video store she worked at at the time. I really like this one because the killer never speaks. Having him not say a word made it that much creepier. You don’t know where he came from, no back story; just sheer madness and a thirst to kill. The black mask he wears is strange and unsettling to look at; almost uncomfortable at times. He is smart and knows exactly what he is doing when it comes to laying the traps; no place is safe! It has some gory deaths and some awesome makeup effects which always catches my eye. It does have a sequel called The Collection that I thought was also well executed and ties up the loose ends that the first one left hanging.
