New Haunted House Horror Movie To Be Released In September
By: Adam Cook
Horror fans have a lot to be excited for this upcoming fall. Not only do we have the final conclusions to Stephen King’s It and Rob Zombie’s Firefly Trilogy with 3 From Hell, but there will be tons of new adaptations and original movies to bite into other than Halloween candy! One of those original movies coming out just released their first trailer today!
Haunt which is being produced by Eli Roth and written and directed by Scott Beck and Bryan Woods whom together wrote A Quiet Place tells the story of a group of friends who encounter a haunted house which advertises that it feeds on their darkest fears which will create the most extreme frightening experiences of their lives. As they go through the house, they realize that this is no ordinary haunted house. It truly becomes a house of nightmares.
In this debut trailer, we see the doomed friends who make their way to the haunted house where they are greeted by a person dressed up as a clown who opens a garage door to let them in. Next comes a familiar lullaby with creepy lyrics that are being sung. The friends go through gags and puzzles that you may see in a haunted house, but then the trailer fades to black and the screams begin. There are numerous people in costumes going after the frightened group, attempting to solve some deadly puzzles followed by another fade to dark shot and someone sobbing and whispering, “Please don’t hurt me!” which then shows a shot of a large hook going through someone’s mouth. Finally there’s some quick shots of the group running, breaking down walls, someone shooting a nail gun, more images of the masked pursuers which ends with the leader asking the question, “Do you want to see my face?”
Haunt stars Katie Stevens, Will Brittain, Lauryn Alisa McClain, Shazi Raja, Schuyler Helford and Damian Maffei. It will be released in theaters nationwide on September 13th.
